It is illegal to demand for HIV test certificate for normal jobs
like engineers, technicians, operators, computer technicians in India. But now
advertisements are appearing in newspaper which demands such certificate for
Saudi Arabia jobs.
It is like sometime back they used to advertise, only Muslims are allowed to
apply for a job. Now that slogan disappeared from these recruitment
agency's Ads. and HIV appeared. What if the candidate get infected during the selection process? Is it necessary
to collect the HIV status of so many job aspirants? HIV status must be a private affair for Indians as they face a lot of
discrimination in society. They can screen them after the candidate gets
selected for the job.
Is there a clear policy by Govt. of India about Privacy, Discrimination, Job
eligibility etc. for HIV infected? Or again just guidelines ( which can be
twisted, as anyone likes) by NACO is available? These Saudi agents wanted
to tarnish India's image as HIV infested country by doing such advertisements.
The person who reads the job advertisement is made to believe that every other
Indian is HIV infected.
They must stop this.
